President Signs H.R. 4366, the
“Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024”

On March 9, 2024, the President signed H.R. 4366, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024 (Public Law 118-42).

SSI Eligibility

Effective upon enactment, this law extends SSI eligibility to certain individuals from the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Republic of Palau while these individuals are residing within one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, or the Northern Mariana Islands. 

These individuals may be eligible for SSI benefits immediately provided they meet all other requirements of the program.
